Meet the SMART Manikin: Lifesaving Training Revolutionized
Self-directed certification for lifesaving education is easier than ever with the Elevate SMART Manikin. Available in adult and infant versions, the Elevate SMART Manikin offers a simple solution to complete skills assessments for several courses, including Basic Life Support (BLS). Pairing online video and lecture content with hands-on experience, the American Red Cross training allows you to learn new techniques and sharpen your skills so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.

- Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED: The 2021 Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults children and infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the self-directed skills session. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

- Basic Life Support: The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult child and infant patients. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the self-directed skills session. Upon successful completion of the course learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime anywhere access to certificate and training history. The American Red Cross is an accredited provider of continuing education by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education.

- Advanced Life Support: The Advanced Life Support (ALS) course provides healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, recognize and care for adult patients experiencing life threatening medical emergencies. The ALS course emphasizes providing high-quality care and integrating psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The online portion of the ALS course features adaptive learning technology which offers a personalized focused learning experience for each participant. Participants must successfully complete the online portion of the course including the ALS Team Response Scenarios at the end of each lesson and the final written exam before moving on to the skills session.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course provides healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, recognize and care for children and infants experiencing life threatening medical emergencies. The PALS course emphasizes providing high-quality care and integrating psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The online portion of the PALS course features adaptive learning technology which offers a personalized focused learning experience for each participant. Participants must successfully complete the online portion of the course including the PALS Team Response Scenarios at the end of each lesson and the final written exam before moving on to the skills session.

Chest Compressions — Depth, Rate, Count:
Accurately measure and assess the depth, rate and count of chest compressions.
Ventilations — Timing, Volume:
Correctly measure the volume of air given during ventilations and the duration of breath provided
Hand Position:
Validate correct hand positioning for effective compressions.
AED Placement:
Adeptly assess the correct locations to place AED pads.
Time Off Chest:
Precisely quantify the time of any interruptions in compressions.
Infant Choking Relief — Count, Hand Placement:
Verify correct hand placement and count of back blows and chest thrusts.
Recoil (Compression Release):
Confirm that the chest is returning to normal position between compressions.
Direct Pressure:
Precisely evaluate the correct pressure required to stop life-threatening bleeding.
