SDMS 2025 Recap: Simulation Takes Center Stage in Sonography Education
This year’s Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS) Annual Conference brought together sonographers, educators, students, and clinical leaders for a collaborative exchange of ideas and innovation, and ultrasound simulation was a clear highlight.
As exhibitors, we had the opportunity to introduce a wide audience to Vimedix, our high-fidelity ultrasound simulator designed to advance how sonography is taught and practiced. We welcomed a steady stream of curious attendees who engaged with our hands-on demonstrations.

Many visitors shared how difficult it’s become to provide consistent, supervised scanning opportunities for students. Simulation, they agreed, offers a reliable, scalable way to bridge that gap. Instructors repeatedly emphasized the growing need for simulation in both didactic and clinical settings, especially as programs expand and access to live patients becomes more limited.
From showcasing realistic pathology to enabling self-guided learning, Vimedix provided a compelling glimpse into the future of ultrasound education. It was clear from conversations and interactions that simulation is not just a supplement, it’s becoming a core part of the curriculum for many programs.
We’re excited by the momentum around simulation and look forward to deepening our presence in the sonography education space.
